The siege of Boston goes from April 19, 1775, through March 17, 1776, and includes the Battle of Breed’s Hill (erroneously called ‘Bunkers Hill’)

In the siege, American patriot militia led by newly-installed Continental Armycommander George Washington prevented the British Army, which was garrisoned in Boston, from moving by land. Both sides faced resource, supply, and personnel challenges during the almost year-long siege. 

British resupply and reinforcements were limited to sea
